Free classifieds website OLX.com delivers details on more than 135,000 used cars, trucks and other vehicles in the United States, and its robust search allows you to look for the exact car you want within a price range you can afford. We started our search at OLX.com’s “vehicles” page. From there, we narrowed the search to “cars” and “only with pictures.” Seeing pictures of the used cars ahead of time saves you many wasted shopping trips. We then selected “offering” as the “type.” If we don’t find exactly what we want, we can post a “wanted” classified later and/or create an email alert for our search criteria. Next, we picked our “price” and “year” ranges, then a “location.” All major cities – plus smaller towns – are represented in OLX.com’s classifieds, including Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas and Denver, just to name a few. Finally, we choose “used” as the “condition” and “all” as the “seller type.” You also can choose to only search classifieds from “individuals” or “professionals/businesses.”
Our search returned 87 used cars to browse. We were able to sort results by year, price, mileage and date listed, which you can’t do on many classifieds websites, including craigslist. Within each classified, we found a description and multiple photos, plus the VIN number, which would allow us to search a vehicle history report website for information on a particular car’s previous accidents, etc. You won’t find that feature – or most of the features previously mentioned – on many classifieds websites, including craigslist. We also appreciated the ability to fully use OLX.com on a web-friendly mobile phone. It makes comparison shopping for used cars, while out and about, much easier.
OLX.com more than passed this test drive, easily beating other classifieds websites. Used cars are not the only area in which OLX.com excels.
